Running Club

Running club got underway this week with an enthusiastic group of children eager to visit a local park and get running. We started with a warm-up and after some drills we finished with the 'camel' run. The 'camel' run is based upon a race that I participated in across the Sahara desert 6 years ago (the Marathon Des Sables). If you were in difficulty in this race and managed to get caught up by the camel at the back you were not allowed to continue the race. So in our race the camel (me) had to try and catch up all of the runners (after giving them a head start). It was Estelle this week who managed to stay in front of the camel the longest. Well done to all of the runners for their super attitude this week.

Running Club

Dear Students and Parents

Please see the letter below that I sent home to any interested students regarding the formation of a Think International School Running Club. You do not need to be an amazing runner to join this club! If you or your child is interested please return the letter to Ms Winnie in the office.

Thank you

Mr Richardson.

Dear Parents

Your child has expressed an interest in joining a school Running Club. This club will be for children from Years 4, 5 and 6 and will take place from 3.15 until 4.15 every Tuesday, starting on the 22nd of October. There will be no fee for joining this club but please note that if they currently go home on a school bus you will need to make alternative arrangements to collect them.

Children will be required to wear P.E. kit for this club and they will be expected to attend every week. Numbers will be limited to 15 children and we will be training at a park nearby the school.

If you would like your child to attend please fill out the form below and return to Ms Winnie in the office by Friday 11th October 2013.

Thank you

Mr Richardson

I am aware that my child will take part in the running club. I give permission for my child to attend this club and authorise the teachers involved to act “in loco parentis”.

Whilst I understand that Think staff will take every possible care of the children during the club, I also understand that accidents do happen and Think cannot be held responsible for accidents where staff have not been negligent in the care of the children.
